2012 Week 1 Rankings

A great 5 days of football to start the season.  The last game was kind of boring, but the ending was great.  The AP Poll won't come out until tomorrow, but I'm going to post my rankings based on my new football ranking system.  There is a huge difference between the 2 polls, but with the "Equal" Poll and everyone starting with 0 points, it's going to be very fluid week by week.  If it follows the trend from last year, after the 4th or 5th week the better teams start rising to the top.  We'll see if this year will be the same.  I think the AP Poll will agree with my top 2 this week in the "Preseason" Poll.  Based on Alabama's convincing win over Michigan, they'll probably move to the #1 spot.  Even though USC dominated in their win and so did LSU, Bama's opponent was much better than Hawaii and North Texas, respectively.  Another comment on the "Equal" Poll, you will notice even though Florida St, Arkansas and Oklahoma St had huge wins are at the bottom of my poll.  The reason being is that all 3 played FCS teams and so had points deducted.  After Oklahoma State's embarrassing win over Savanna State, I'm hoping teams will realize this is wrong.  I can't believe I'm even saying this, but I have to agree with Lou Holtz.  On College FB Live before the game tonight they talked about whether or not FBS should play FCS teams.  Lou said he thinks they should because it helps the FCS schools financially, but he thinks those wins should not count for the postseason.  I agree 1000%!!

Live from NY

Just flew in to NY today to see my Trojans take on the Orange at Met Life Stadium tomorrow. Looks like a lot of Trojan fans made the trip to the East Coast since there were a bunch on my flight and have seen tons walking around the city. I missed the pep rally with the marching band at Times Square today, but I'll post some pics from the game.
