Welcome to the 2014 College Football Season Big Ten

With their 2nd big weekend where they could show some pride, the Big Ten stepped up BIG time.  The only embarrassing loss was Michigan losing at home to Utah 26-10.  Everybody else won their games including some good wins Indiana winning at Missouri 31-27, Iowa winning at Pitt 24-20 and Maryland winning at Syracuse 34-20.  All of the other wins were against inferior teams and they should've won those games.

The big upset so far (I say that since Oregon is tied right now at half with Washington St 21-21) has to be Mississippi St beat LSU at Death Valley at night 34-29.  The score is not indicative of the game.  MSU totally dominated this game.  LSU I think had less than 100 yds rushing the entire game and they couldn't stop MSU on the ground all day.  LSU was able to score a late TD and then MSU's center snapped the ball over the QB's head and LSU recovered.  They scored a couple of plays later.  So LSU scored 13 points in :28 seconds, but MSU was able to hold on to win the game.

Florida St got a scare and actually should've lost the game.  Clemson missed 2 FGs and twice they were inside the 5 yd line and came away with zero points.  To make it worse, Clemson intercepted the ball with under 3 minutes to play.  As the RB was running for the first down, he fumbled the ball so the game went to overtime.  Now comes the worst call of the game.  Clemson in the 1st OT had a 4th & 1 and decide to go for it instead of kicking a FG.  This call I totally agreed with since their FG kicker sucks.  My problem is with the call they chose to run.  The QB is in the shotgun position with the WR in motion, he hands the ball off to the RB and he is stopped for a 1 yd loss turning the ball over on downs.  FSU then on their possession runs the ball in for a TD to win the game.  Clemson should've done a QB sneak, a bootleg, play action pass, anything was better than what they called.  FSU won the game, but Clemson actually gave it to them.
